Woman Living In Italy For 15 years Brought Back to Her Home Town Dead with vita Organs Missing

A family in Malindi are still finding it hard to come terms with an incident whereby their kin, who has been living abroad for 15-years, was brought back to Kenya dead and with missing vital organs.

Amanita Luwali, the deceased aged 36, had been living with her Italian husband in Italy since 2016 after she went to the country in 2004.

According to Josphine Mrima, the mother of the deceased, they were informed that their daughter had died abroad on September this year with cause of death being a mystery. They were informed by Luwali's husband that they were to hold her requiem mass the following day before her body to be cremated abroad.

Mrima refused the cremation of her daughter and ordered that she should be brought back to the country so that they may bury her.

The body was brought in the country via the Moi International Airport in Mombasa in a container with special instructions that the container should not be opened by anyone. The body was also put in a tamper-proof metallic box.

The husband had instructed the family not to view the body without giving his reasons. This raised suspicion making the family to view the body of their kin when it arrived at the Star Hospital mortuary in MMalindi Town.

The family was shocked to find the body of their kin looking odd. Her eyes had been removed and replaced with plastic ones. The heart and liver were also missing.

It has become difficult for the family to establish what might have caused the death of their daughter with the missing vital organs.

The matter has been reported to Marereni police station in Magarini Sub County and police have launched investigations.
